Disposing of an SGI Indy and monitor

Anyone got any tips for disposing of an old SGI Indy (dead power supply, no hard drive) and associated 17" monitor (GDM-17E11 with non-standard connector)? I have to call Waterloo region to figure out what I'm supposed to do in the 6 months between the amnesty day I missed and the time they open up the transfer station for computer parts. There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of eBay value in it. Any other suggestions for safe disposal are appreciated, and if anyone wants to come to Waterloo this week to take it off my hands, they're welcome to as well.

oh crap

I left that Next out by the bin when I moved out. It never even occurred to me that it needed proper disposal! Well, I hoped at the time that someone would pick it up, and maybe they did...

I called the region today and was told that I could just leave it out for curbside pickup until next June. I asked them what to do if I did want to dispose of it properly, since hey, if they're going to refuse pickup, it's probably for a reason, right? So there's a place down in Kitchener that would take it off my hands if no one at work or here does first.
