Today's Outlook/Exchange lesson learned
Mar. 8th, 2006 03:12 pmWhen spam at work wasn't too bad (1-2 month), I had an Outlook rule to change the category, and would display the category in small grey text. As it got much worse, I added a part to the rule that deleted the message on receipt. However, it still caused Outlook to play the new mail notification as I'd see the mail appear and get deleted immediately, and there were some irritating side effects from that. Anyways, it turns out that assigning a category made it a client-only rule, which is why it still showed up in my inbox. When I removed the part of the rule to assign a category, it moved the rule to the server, and deletes it before I ever see it. Hooray!
